Hi, I’m Kai!

I was born and raised on Oahu, Hi. Throughout my life here, I have deepened my connection to, and respect for the ‘Aina (land), and the beautiful people who call this island home. Growing up in a diverse place with such a rich culture, and so many creative people, taught me the importance of expression through art. Alongside photography I have a deep love for music, acting, and filmmaking. I feel that creating and expressing through multiple art forms really strengthens my understanding of art as a whole, and enhances my photography.

My love for photography grew alongside my love for nature. I wanted to capture the beauty I was experiencing through my lens of the world, so that I could share the moment with others. My love for landscapes grew into a love of capturing the beauty in people. I see the people and places I come across in my life as a reflection of myself. The world is such a magical place with so many wonderful expressions of beauty. I feel that true beauty lies in a natural, effortless state. My goal is to capture the essence of that beauty!
